LJ lets me rant, and because my co-workers don't know I have it, they don't know that I rant here!

Play free cell, brush my teeth, turn on music.

Okay, fine: I have allergies.
Okay, fine: I can't see or smell because of them they're so bad this year.
Okay, so I'm led to believe: this is one of the worst allergy seasons in recent memory for Victoria.
But holy crap: the stupid medications are expensive! I'm not talking about your Claritins, your Allegras or your Reactines. Those are expensive simply on principal, and really, not all that bad when you figure it out daily. But then you go to the doctor about the seeing and the breathing thing?
Yeah, he makes you drop nearly a hundred bucks on eye drops and nose spray, not to mention calmly suggesting doubling your daily dose of the already expensive Reactine. Don't get me wrong, I'll get most of it back when I claim it; but that's so not the point! I mean, really, why do they create such torture devices and then charge us so much for them? I get that I need it - and yes, they worked - but why, why why?
Plus - ICK!!!

Once again, one of the busiest days of the year at work. The shoe-aholic party. It was fantastic, of course - but still exhausting. I don't usually post about this, but I'm excited, and didn't want to put it on facebook as some of my friends there are also co-workers. The director of PR wanted to take me with her on the tour to help her! She was really half joking, but as it was only HALF joking I'm still excited. Plus, she remembers me from the other years. I don't know why that's exciting for me other than the fact that it means I'm not deluding myself when I tell myself that the amount I put into this job gets noticed. It does get noticed, and sometimes, like yesterday - I get reminded that it's noticed.
That's really my whole rant...yeah.

This is the perfect question.
112 and counting. I wear them all. In fact, I've ordered the perfect pair of Pink Wedges. Franco Sarto with a cut-out. Strap at the toes, and ankle strap.
Some (read most) women search for the perfect pair of black shoes. I don't. I am on the hunt for the perfect kaleidoscope of shoes: the best of every colour. I have green: BCBG wedges and Franco Sarto flats. I have red pointed toe croc print pumps. I have grey ribbon-tie lace-up platform oxfords. I have silver Anne Klein ballet flats, and I have blue patent wood platform heels. I have red boots, and purple boots. I even have brown metallic boots. I have floral print satin flats.
Thus I pose my own question: What's your favorite pair of shoes? Think about it - it's more important than you realize.

Fascinating. Nearly twenty weeks have passed since I last updated this blog. Every day when I log on to check my friends' posts, LJ suggests a topic to cure my supposed 'writers block'. Simply put, I don't have writers block. However, this particular topic intrigues me. I mean, the logical answer should be "I wash my face, brush my teeth, change into pyjamas and set my delay brew coffee maker."
While this is true, it's not the answer.
I play Free Cell. That's right people, Free Cell. Lately, I can't get through the day without at least two games of it. It's stupid and ridiculous, but get this: the other night, I re-booted my computer just to play Free Cell.

1. My dad visited! Yay for Harbour Ferry tours!
2. My brother's band was on the island and I went to see them play. Go Kiros!
3. I found out the days I'm flying home to Alberta! (Dec 31 to Jan 8; stay tuned for details as to which cities I'll be in when)
4. My grandparents visited!
5. I bought the most adorable grey platform oxfords: love!
6. We determined Chris wasn't fitting in with the team, so we made him go away.
7. It's early November, and I can still sit on my balcony for hours at a time to read. No snow, woohoo!
8. New seasons of Heroes, Grey's Anatomy and Bones.
9. Sad, but true: Brody & Spencer "break up" on The Hills. Take that Spencer.
10. BSG: Razor airs November 24. So exciting.
I'd tag others, but then I'd have to remember to check again, and as evidenced by my general lack of posting, I tend to forget to check!

I'm told I don't post very often. I do so try to remember to post, but then it occurs to me that I don't really have much to say. Wake up, go to work, come home, go to sleep. More often than not, that's my life. Yes, I do sometimes have some fascinating stories to tell about work, but no one who reads this blog would care that crazy fashion show lady didn't pick up her shoes for the show last night and now we're going to have to deal with her on a Saturday. I don't have time to deal with crazy fashion show lady.
I suppose the fact that my dad visited this week is mildly interesting in that it's not very interesting at all. We went downtown, wandered wal-mart and ate breakfast at the neatest little diner that is reputed to have the best breakfast in the city.
That's about it here on the island.

Have you ever noticed that when you forget to set an alarm you wake up completely refreshed and relaxed? This morning, as I do not have to work today, it occured to me as I woke that I just didn't care what time it was. For the first time in a very long time, I just didn't care. Until today, even on my days off I needed to be sure to get up at a specific time so that I would get everything that needed to be done, done. Laundry, groceries, errands in general. Today, all I have to accomplish is to buy coffee, as I ran out this morning.
I love life today.
That may change if I ever have to deal with Telus again, but whatever.

Have you ever noticed that when deadlines become imminent, distractions multiply exponentially? Today, most especially, I have. You see, way back in January, my Relig prof made note of the fact that our term papers were due on March 21st. No exceptions, no extensions.
As of this very moment, it is March 20th and I do not have a paper to edit yet.
What, you may ask, did I do today? Did I research, or take notes, or make a plan, or even try to write a draft?
No - of course not.
